Why is death merchant pimp Uncle Sam (aka ‘Congress’), tobacco, alcohol, refined chemical sweeteners, toxic chemical and drug pusher/regulator and tax (revenue) beneficiary, telling Americans to lowers salt intake?
BEWARE OF VESTED INTERESTS BEARING ANY ADVICE.
These are the same clowns that told you 4 basic unprocessed food groups were bad for you , and to follow their pyramid food scheme.
In this same period, of the Uncle Sam caused harming of American health and wellness, 7 out of 10 Americans, believing this nonsense, gained weight and got sicker.
We are over fed, under nourished, and heavily over drugged.
So is salt bad for you? Yes, too much of anything is indeed bad. Too much water is called ‘drowning’.
What salts should you avoid? Heavily processed and refined brands like Leslie, Morton, Diamond, Crystal.
Once upon a time, DUST BOWL migrants from the mid west, during the 1930′s Depression, had lots of goiters and thyroid issues. It was SOLVED, by giving them for pennies on the dollar correctly iodized salt.
Unfortunately (follow the $$$) today that form of iodized salt, as well as ratio dosage, has been dumb-downed in many brands of iodized consumer or finished branded salt, to sell and push higher profit and HARMFUL thyroid medications (Armor, Synthroid, Thyroxin, Levothyroxin, etc.).
Want safe iodine, consume clean shell fish like shrimp, prawns, crab and lobster, that Uncle Sam has tried to poison through eco terrorism with their BP buddies in the Gulf of Mexico, or allowing private industry to destroy (Monsanto, etc.) in lakes and rivers.
Use real rock or sea salt with real vitamins, minerals, and health benefits, in moderation.
Taking health tips from the guys (Congress), in the pockets of death merchants, is like asking Al Qaeda or the Taliban for tips on peace.
Oh yes, GOT ZIJA®?!

The government is telling half of the U.S. population to drastically cut their daily salt intake.
That’s the advice to consumers — and the food industry — as the government issues new dietary guidelines, which are the recommendations behind the popular food pyramid.
