Media hoax exposed: Recent attack on vitamins a fabricated scare campaign

I thought it important to reprint the attached article, from 2011, because just the other night, I saw one of the most deplorable, fraudulent, misrepresented, feeble, non empirical attempts, in my entire scientific career! 2 government lawyers, and a Pro Big Pharma medical doctor, from NIH, were trying to lump all Dietary Supplements as “snake oil”, and “of little or no value”, broadcast on C- SPAN (The Congressional TV Propaganda Channel).

Folks, if this TV broadcast (with virtually no audience by the way) was not a primary example of blatant misuse of taxpayer dollars, and nanny state government gone wild, advocating only Pharma Drugs, I do not know what is.

I tell you it was as though watching a kangaroo court Nazi show trial and purges of the 1930′s.

Your wellness freedoms are under direct full frontal assault by Big Pharma lobbyists, for profit, to perpetrate their sick care profiteering agenda under FAILED and rip off Social (In) Security, Medi (non) care, and the single largest transfer of wealth from the population Obama (“TAX” per the US Supreme Court) Fake Care (the legislation was written by 2 Big Pharma Drug Lawyers, complete with “Death Panels”, that is indeed true).

Pfizer multivitamin TV ads mislead consumers about healthy diets, says UK watchdog

The retail brand, in the attached article, was already BUSTED for FRAUDULENT representation in the USA, in late 2010 (front page of the Wall Street Journal and NY Times) claims, by the FTC/US Department Of Justice, for non absorbability.

As a matter of fact, the joke in hospitals and other institutional settings (convalescent homes), call this and similar brands “bed pan bullets”, because they pass through the gut, undissolved, let alone absorbed.

So we should ask a simple question: if so called vitamin and mineral supplements, like the above brand, actually worked, why are folks getting sicker and sicker?

In point of provable FACT, such brands are a scam and fraud, to get you sicker, to get you on more drugs, for REVENUE and PROFIT for Big Pharma.

Vitamin K Lowers Diabetes Risk

In CategoryBlood Glucose Conditions, Vitamins
ByRuss Bianchi

Posted on Nov. 9, 2012, 6 a.m. in Diabetes Cardio-Vascular

Vitamin K is a group of structurally similar, fat-soluble vitamins. There are 2 known natural vitamin K vitamers –K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquinones) – both of which play a role in the posttranslational modification of certain proteins, blood coagulation, and in metabolic pathways in bone and other tissue.  Monica Bullo, from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain), and colleagues analyzed data from 1069 men and women, average age 67.5 years, who were enrolled in the Prevention with the Mediterranean Diet study. None of the subjects had diabetes at the study’s start, but 5 1/2 years later 131 people developed the disease. The team reported that vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) levels at the start of the study were linked to type-2diabetes risk, with higher levels linked to lower risk of the disease. Specifically, the highest average intakes of vitamin K1 associated with the total reduction in the risk of diabetes by 51%, compared to people with the lowest average intakes levels. Further, the researchers observed that for every 100 microgram per day increase in the intake of vitamin K1, the risk of developing diabetes decreased by 17%. The study authors conclude that:  “dietary phylloquinone intake is associated with reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. ”

Nuria Ibarrola-Jurado,  Jordi Salas-Salvado,  Miguel A Martinez-Gonzalez, Monica Bullo.  “Dietary phylloquinone intake and risk of type 2 diabetes in elderly subjects at high risk of cardiovascular disease.”  Am J Clin Nutr., October 3, 2012.

Type 2 Diabetes should not even exist, yet currently in the US there are 26 million diabetics and 79 million prediabetics.  Currently researchers are predicting that by 2050 there will be 130 millions diabetics…. not a very promising prognosis.  Vitamin K is present in many plant sources including a bio-available enzymatically alive compound in Moringa oleifera.

Vitamin D supplements may protect against viral infections during the winter

Vitamin D-3 is critical to one’s wellness, and Zija® delivers it, where many other offerings are not absorbed.

~ Uncle Russ

Vitamin D may be known as the sunshine vitamin, but a new research report appearing in the Journal of Leukocyte Biology shows that it is more than that. According to the report, insufficient levels of vitamin D are related to a deficiency in our innate immune defenses that protect us from infections, neoplasias or autoimmune diseases. Since vitamin D levels decrease during autumn and winter when days are shorter and sunlight is relatively weak, this may explain why people are more prone to viral infection during these times. It also suggests that vitamin D supplementation, especially in older populations, could strengthen people’s innate immunity against viral infections.

In a prospective study involving data collected from 23,943 subjects without pre-existing cancer and myocardial infarction/stroke at baseline, who were followed for an average of 11 years, during which time 1,101 deaths were documented (cancer deaths=513; cardiovascular deaths=264), baseline users of antioxidant vitamin supplements were found to have a significantly reduced risk of cancer mortality (HR=0.52) and all-cause mortality (HR=0.58). Interestingly, subjects who started taking vitamin supplements during the follow-up period had significantly increased risks of cancer mortality (HR=1.74) and all-cause mortality (HR=1.58), as compared to baseline non-users. The authors state that this finding, “may suggest a “sick-user effect,” which researchers should be cautious of in future observational studies.” They conclude, “Based on limited numbers of users and cases, this cohort study suggests that supplementation of antioxidant vitamins might possibly reduce cancer and all-cause mortality.”
